Croatian artists in Rhineland-Palatinate’s Summer of Culture
The Kunsthalle Trier presents the exhibition JADRAN with works by Croatian artists in the context of Rhineland-Palatinate’s Summer of Culture.
The title JADRAN (Croatian for „Adriatic“ or Adriatic Sea) refers to the cultural region of Istria and Dalmatia, which is particularly characterised by its location between East and West and the access to the Mediterranean. A focus is on thecoastal cities of Rijeka, Split and Trier’s twin city of Pula, which are home to lively art scenes that already engage in regional exchanges through diverse existing contacts.
The exhibition JADRAN presents contemporary artistic positions from installation and video works to painting and photography. The focus is on works that have a connection to the coastal region, that take up and depict social, natural, and architectural themes.
Ergänzt wird die Ausstellung mit einer Projektwebsite und mit einem Begleitprogramm (Führungen, Vorlesungen, Workshops).
