The exhibition “Behind the Frontiers. Ukraine…” showcases Florian Bachmeier’s photographs taken in Ukraine in Trier for the first time. Florian Bachmeier’s intensive travels through the whole country transpires in his pictures that reflect the psychological and social ramifications on the people, as well as on the landscapes. The colour photographs describe a seeming state of numbness and simultaneous perpetual uncertainty.
The exhibition is held on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day in cooperation with the DJV-Bezirksverband Trier.
The entrance is free of charge.

Florian Bachmeier (born 1974) studied photography at the EAO in Pamplona/Spain and history at the LMU in Munich. He has been working for many years as a documentary photographer focusing on Eastern Europe. His photographs have been published in a vast array of magazines and papers. They have been exhibited internationally and won multiple awards. Bachmeier has been taking photographs in Ukraine since 2013. His publication “IN LIMBO” compiles a selection of these pictures.

Der Jugendchor des Theaters Trier unter Leitung von Chordirektor Martin Folz wird die Eröffnung musikalisch umrahmen.
